Wildfig designer Sam Drummond in a garden surrounded by hydrangeas

Hello

I’m Sam, the artist behind Wildfig Designs.

I create elegant, nature-inspired surface patterns with a gentle, imaginative touch. My work blends botanical detail with playful storytelling, resulting in collections that feel soft, warm, and beautifully crafted.

Working in watercolour, oils, and digital illustration, I develop cohesive collections designed for fabric, stationery, children’s goods, home décor, and lifestyle products.

My art is rooted in calm, curiosity, and the belief that beauty, even in small forms, can soften the world around us.

A little about my journey

My path to surface design wasn’t linear.

I fell in love with art as a child, long before I knew where it would lead, and for many years, creativity wove in and out of my life in unexpected seasons. I studied Social Sciences, became a mother, and spent years designing wedding stationery before pausing to raise my two sons.

A decade later, I returned to art through painting lessons and I found what I had been quietly missing. A sense of wonder, play, and peace.

In 2024, I discovered surface pattern design and knew instantly that this was the thing I had been searching for. Since then, I’ve been building a body of work inspired by nature, tenderness, and the beauty of small moments.

What makes us different

Garden-grown storytelling

Every pattern begins with a real seed, a season, a garden moment, or a personal memory. I gather ideas outdoors first, then translate them into artwork so each design feels alive, rooted, and quietly meaningful.

Human-made by design

Wildfig values the hand, the artistic eye, and the small imperfections that machines can’t replicate. From sketchbook to final pattern, every piece is shaped with care, warmth, and a human touch.

Created with intention

Rather than following trends, I focus on creating work that feels timeless and nurturing, designs meant to live with you, not rush past you.

What I create

I create thoughtfully crafted surface pattern collections designed to translate beautifully across fabric, wallpaper, stationery, and home décor.

Each collection is built with versatility, colour harmony, and commercial appeal in mind, making them well suited for licensing across a range of product categories.

Who it's for

My designs are created for

those who are drawn to calm over clutter, softness over spectacle, and art that feels personal rather than performative. It’s for people who value thoughtful design, natural beauty, and meaningful details in their everyday places.

What I hope my art brings

I hope my art brings a sense of calm and quiet joy. Moments where life feels just a little softer. Whether it appears on a child's bedroom wall, a favourite piece of stationery or a piece of fabric chosen with care, I want the work to feel like a gentle pause. More than decoration, I hope these designs offer comfort, warmth, and a feeling of being held, art that nourishes rather than overwhelms.
